Business Development Manager - Transactional

This position reports to a Senior Business Development Manager and can be based in the firm’s Atlanta or Richmond office. The Manager will provide business and client development support to the firm-wide Business Corporate/Transactional group. The Manager will assist in developing and implementing strategies to cultivate business with current and prospective clients; work with marketing and practice leadership to develop annual business plans; conduct client, prospect, industry, competitor and market research/analysis to inform targeted business development efforts; support client feedback initiatives; develop and implement industry-focused strategies; identify and execute on cross-selling opportunities; develop high quality, tailored pitch materials and responses to RFPs; work with marketing and practice leadership to implement lateral integration plans; develop approaches to help lawyers effectively leverage participation in important industry programs; work with the firm’s communications team to effectively promote the successes of the practices, including identifying media, publishing and speaking opportunities that align with the profile-raising objectives of the practices; identify media, publishing and speaking opportunities that align with the profile-raising objectives of the practices; prepare submissions for significant ranking publications, including Chambers; update practice collateral to reflect recent developments and enhanced capabilities.

Requirements:

College degree required and six (6) or more years of marketing experience, preferably with a law firm. Experience with technology commonly used in a law firm marketing department.
