Director of Business Development

The Business Development Director will supervise a team of three to four business development professionals at the Manager and Coordinator level within the daily operations of assigned practice groups and departments. Together with his/her team, the Director ensures that the practice groups’ day-to-day operations are running effectively and efficiently. The Director is responsible for leading a culture of business development within the practice groups by focusing primarily on their strategic growth and planning, competitive differentiation and on increasing revenue, reputation/brand, and profitability. Additionally, the Director serves as an integral part of the department’s leadership team.

This position will work closely with other members of the Marketing Department to ensure their initiatives support firm priorities and help drive overall firm strategy. The Director will support a few key practice areas for the Firm with day to day responsiblilities including: Strategic Planning, Pitching & Targeting, Market Research, Profile Raising, Event Management, Communications and Lateral Integration. 

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience that included direct personnel supervision and management on a regular basis in demanding client service-oriented industries. JD, MBA or other related advanced degree may substitute for required experience. Direct experience in a law firm environment in a business development or practice management capacity required.
