A global law firm is seeking a Sr. Business Development Coordinator to work with their award winning IP practice. This group spans the globe with a team of over 400 IP and data protection professionals. From IP portfolio management, to IP transactions, litigation and data protection, they represent over 50% of the world's top 100 brands, 16 of the world's top pharmaceutical companies and 5 of the leading smart phone manufacturers. The IP group has won over 20 awards for work in the past 12 months, including Managing Intellectual Property's Global IP Firm of the Year.
This position will focus on the following areas:
Business Development & Strategy
- Participate and help lead in the development and implementation of strategic plans. Support key strategic BD initiatives of the IP practice, including support in developing and executing targeted programs to generate new business. Provide support on other strategic business development and marketing initiatives of the firm as needed.
- Conduct research on existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry or market trends to aid in the development of marketing plans, pitches, presentations, and proposals. Read industry, legal, and business publications to remain aware of trends that may impact the practice and to identify business development opportunities.
- Support the IP Manager on initiatives to build profile for the practice group; practice areas; industry sectors; and client teams (internally and, as appropriate, externally) by publicizing victories, news items, events, and relevant articles. Coordinate sponsorships. Develop and produce internal and external client alerts and newsletters. Coordinate profile and directory submissions.
- Support the IP Manager in the production and management of seminars, receptions, and other marketing-oriented events and activities, including but not limited to mailing list creation, event promotion, development of invitations and other client communications, concept development, and vendor selection.
Five (5)+ years marketing experience in a professional services, corporate or agency environment preferred. BS or BA degree in marketing, communications, or related field is preferred. Prior experience working within an Intellectual Property Practice role is a plus. Strong enthusiasm for and interest in technology.
