Proposal Manager

Atlanta, New York or Washington, DC

A global law firm is currently recruiting for a Proposals Manager to be resident in the Atlanta, New York or Washington, DC office. The Proposals Manager will work closely with the US Business Development team to manage proposals across the US region and advise on ways to continually improve the approach to proposals. The team's ultimate goal is to significantly improve the firm's proposal conversion rate by delivering well-run proposal processes and promoting best practices throughout all stages.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the pipeline of proposals in terms of efficient resourcing and distribution of tasks.
  • Oversee the project management of proposals, including facilitating meetings and ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Improve processes to scope opportunities more effectively, including establishing more rigor around the firm's proposal/no proposal procedure.
  • Produce tailored win strategies, including unique sales propositions, compelling and profitable pricing models and persuasive added value propositions.
  • Create high-quality, tailored proposal content and documentation.
  • Provide presentation coaching that challenges and improves the performance of pitch teams.
  • Solicit and act on feedback to consistently improve the way that we pitch.
  • Deliver hands-on proposals which add real value by bringing energy, ideas, creativity and boldness to the shaping of strategically important proposals.
  • Help to foster a culture that celebrates success by communicating significant wins internally where appropriate.
  • Work to continually improve the central proposal management system and processes to support the efficient and timely production of proposals and reports.
  • Work with the team to review pitch templates and content to ensure consistency and best practices are met.
  • Keep up-to-date with market best practices and developments in IT systems with respect to proposals, including building effective relationships with peers, clients, and procurement professionals.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of proposal experience working in a professional services environment.
  • Demonstrates creativity, project management skills and coaching experience.
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong experience producing profitable pricing models and added-value propositions.
  • Must be up for a challenge and have the drive to make a real difference.
  • Ability to fit in with a diverse team and work cohesively in order to achieve high quality results.
  • Ability to adapt, change, prioritize and still deliver on the things that matter most is crucial.
  • Desire to learn, whether from others, or by creating something that has not been done before.
  • Must be able to collaborate with people at all levels.
  • Knows the subject matter and presents confidently in front of internal clients, large groups, and people from all backgrounds.
